As with any of the contests we attend, we like to bring it to those who didn’t make it.  Here are the sights we saw at the Pork in the Park BBQ contest in Salisbury, Md this past weekend.

Over the weekend we visited Fred’s Turkey Workshop.

In case you missed it, earlier this week, Huck Sr. was on the BBQ Central Show talking chicken.  Listen and learn as all panelists were pretty knowledgeable.

Well sorry for the late post folks but here they are, pics from this past weekend’s New Holland Summerfest. Top 10 overall finishers and more pics after the jump.

For this post we went to the reading terminal market and picked up a 3 1/2 lb. chicken(free-range). First, we brined it with huck’s basic brine, for about 12 hrs and let it air dry in the fridge for 12 hrs.

Our quest for beef tri-tip on the east coast landed us here at Galvinell Meats in Conowingo, MD. This stop on our Road Trip series has us excited as there are not many custom butchers in our area.

We picked up the 3 EYZ original bbq spice rub from the 3 eyz guys at the Galvinell Grillin and Chillin bbq contest. The 3 eyz guys told us it works great on ribs so that’s what we used for this test.

Today we were on The Meat Show!!!  We had a great time with Emily and Kyle who are such great interviewers.  If you were listening, we forgot the name of our favorite BBQ spot ironically.  It’s Dwight’s at Broad St. and Germantown Ave in Philadelphia, PA.  You can listen to the show below.

Looks like the Bubba Kegs will now be more competitively priced. The price tag is being lowered $200 from $799 to $599.

Guys and gals, we had to share with you the amazing skills of the Austin Rudy’s BBQ Cutting contest’s 2008 winner.  While receiving requests of different meats from what it sounds like, one of the judges, this guy blazes through these cuts at high speeds.  Watch  and enjoy!!!

Kingsford recently began releasing their new Competition Charcoal to the masses so today we’ll be doing a review on it. We’ll be comparing how this performs in reference to the original charcoal.

Today we are going to show you how to smoke a Turduckhen w/ bigger pics. We started with an already prepared Turduckhen roll, that means that all 3 meats have already been sewned together. The Turduckhen roll consists of the breast portion of the turkey, duck, and the chicken.
