I'm thinking of getting a start smoker. Does anyone know which offset I should purchase?

Not an offset, but the Smokenator 1000 http://smokenator.com/default.htm, in my Weber kettle got me started and I think it was less than $80.00 if you have a Weber kettle. Everybody has a Weber kettle .... don't they?:) If you don't have a kettle that is where you need to start.

Well I agree weber can be used to make great que. If an offset is what you want depends on your wallet. At the lower end charbroil with some mod can work well. Meadow creek makes some great pits.

I have not see the Meadow Creek brand so just looked on the web, nice. I bookmarked it for future reference. I just got my WSM this past Summer and my wife would shoot me if she saw me looking at something else:) When she is not looking I search eBay and Craigs List just in case there is a Horizon or Klose going cheap:rolleyes:

just bought smokanator havewnt got to try it yet any advice on using it.

The guy who invented it and is in the video died this past summer. He was very helpful when I first started. I'm no expert, but will be happy to help if you run into a problem.

Looks cool never used one seems pretty simple. Let us know how you make out. Try beer can yardbird kinda of for-giving. Remember we love pictures
