Smokin Turkey
Well folks, Thanksgiving is coming up and we thought we’d bring you a how to on smoked turkey. We assure you yours will come out as good and tasty as ours if you follow the below directions.
Items Used:
1) Turkey (18.50 pounder)
2) Rocky’s Rub (you can use or make your favorite)
3) Mixture of olive oil, apple juice and some of the above rub
In the first step, we season our bird with Rocky’s Rub. Make sure the full bird is seasoned.

Next we season the cavity of the bird using our rub, butter and onions

The next step is what we like to do with most of our prepared meats. That’s right, place the turkey in the fridge overnight or at least up to 4hrs.
The next step is to set the smoker to 325-350 degrees and lay the turkey on the smoker as shown

After 1.5 hours, drizzle the turkey with our mixture (mentioned in item #3 above) and rotate the turkey a little. Repeat this step every half hour.

After 4hrs, take the temperature of the turkey’s breast with your thermometer. If it reads 160 degrees then it is done.
